Celebrating FREEdom: A banned books giveaway program

In this session attendees will hear how an academic library planned and implemented a book giveaway during Banned Books Week. Now in its second year the book giveaway focuses on handing out banned books, as well as books from underrepresented and marginalized authors. Book are handed out to students, staff, faculty, and community members as they pass by the front of the library. Details about planning will be shared, including funding the purchase of books; marketing the event; and how the event was received on campus.
